Our Story

How it all started...

Our story began in September 1958 when Pastor Arnie & JoAnn Jergenson experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit while serving a Lutheran church in Poulsbo, Washington. After some time, Pastor Arnie resigned from the Lutheran church, and in 1970, Faith Fellowship began in a neighbor's home with just a few people attending. Pastor Arnie said, "I felt the need to establish a body of believers centered on the Word and Spirit, united in the Lord".

As Faith Fellowship grew, so did the need for a larger facility. After years of meeting in basements, a funeral home, a school, and more, the vision for a permanent building was agreed upon, and on November 23, 1975 the people of Faith Fellowship unanimously agreed to purchase 15 acres on Newberry Hill Road in Silverdale, Washington. Clearing the land and construction of the building continued for the following eight years. The first service in our current building was held on Mother’s Day, 1987. With God’s awesome provision, our church building and surrounding 22 acres are completely debt free. Pastor Arnie continued serving as Lead Pastor of Faith Fellowship until January, 1990.

Continuing the vision...

For the following 37 years, Arnie's son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Debbie Jergenson, would faithfully shepherd the church.  Leading people passionately in worshipping the Lord Jesus, Pastor Joe's love for Jesus inspired countless others in their relationship with the Lord. He would continue the legacy that Pastor Arnie began in loving God, loving people, and changing lives.

Where we are headed...

Since 2018, Pastor Eric and Christina Houser have been leading Faith Fellowship with an emphasis on healing that take place through the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit, building lives on the foundation of Jesus, the Word of God, and ultimately sending people out into the world around us.

From the founding of our church under the leadership of Pastor Arnie Jergenson in 1970 until today, our desire has always been to let the Holy Spirit lead and guide us as we hold deeply to the unchanging Word of God.  It is that commitment that has made us who we are - A people on mission, placed purposefully in the center of Kitsap County.
